Mobile Thermal Soil Processing System - PCB capable
This unit can be used to decontaminate a wide range of inorganics with organic content. At a throughput of 7 cubic meters per hour we can achieve a 15 minute soak time at an average temperature of 900 degrees Fahrenheit. This is sufficient to boil off the heavy hydrocarbons. The thermal oxidizer, which destroys the vapors, can operate at temperatures of up to 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit with a minimum of 2 seconds residence time of the flue gas in the combustion chamber.

With these operating parameters, the system is capable of polychlorinated biphenyl destruction within the requirements of applicable state and federal regulations. When the hydrocarbon contamination is light, the hydrocarbon recovery module can be omitted from the system. The organics are combusted and destroyed in the thermal oxidizer. In this case the throughput of the system can be made to be considerably higher.

When lower average soak temperatures of the soil are sufficient, then the throughput can also be raised.

If you have a particular application in mind, please contact Kenneth W. Hladun.

For the application involving the decontamination of 7 cubic meters per hour of soil contaminated with 15% light hydrocarbon and an average of 30% moisture, the general specifications are as follow:
