The incineration experience of Omega Thermal Technologies, Inc. (OTT) began in 1977 when a group of technical people from the glass manufacturing industry set about designing a new thermal process for the treatment of all types of waste. In 1978 the design was completed and the first facility was built in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. For this system US Patent # 4,320,709 was granted to Kenneth W. Hladun, now President of OTT.

In addition, OTT designed facilities have been constructed in Houston, Texas and Melbourne, Australia. There were significant innovations in the means of handling and combusting a wide range of solid waste material. Some of the innovations were in design of process elements too numerous to recount here and in new devices that have particular merit in this difficult process. Among these innovations are found the vortex burner, the rocking kiln, vibratory hearth, multi stage air pollution control means, computer monitoring and control and process water treatment.

Over the years, OTT has produced new inventions to solve difficult problems, these are as follows:

In addition to complete facilities constructed in accordance with OTT design, OTT has provided service to others who require either retrofit, upgrade or new design for thermal waste treatment applications.
